How did I make the "Amazing Race"?
How can you make one?
This workshop was a 100% attendee hands - on experience. It is hard to display all the resources here as the whole thing was a game, but I will explain in this page how I did the amazing race. If you would like to go through the 6 challenges you can by starting at round 1 here: https://sites.google.com/a/tcis.ac.th/the-amazing-race/
Click here to make a copy of the slides I used to build excitement. (Move to a drive folder you will remember)
Click to copy the score sheet I used
Step 1: The points. The points were recorded on a spreadsheet, which was connected to a chart. The chart was placed on the website so that participants could see live points go up and up. If you want you can make a copy of the points sheet here: click to copy the score sheet . The score sheet is what really brought the gamification to life. You will need student minions to add points to the sheet and check work as participants move along. You can do it, but it will be a lot of work and including students is always a great thing. |
Step 2: Make A google form every round you have. In the google form you will need to have a submission of that rounds challenge. The submission goes to the student judges to get points added. The Form is connected to an Autocrat which sends an email to the participants bringing them to the next round.
